Australia Great Pinpoints Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah's Biggest Strength. Says "Always..."
Sydney, Australia
Former Australian cricketer and selector Mark Waugh has identified Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah as two of the greatest bowlers in the current era, citing their ability to swing the game at any moment.
In an interview with Foxsports, Waugh said, "I think they [Cummins and Bumrah] are the two best bowlers in the world at the moment. They can win a game from any position."
Cummins' Strength
Waugh believes that Cummins' greatest strength is his ability to generate swing and seam movement, even on flat wickets.
"He [Cummins] is able to get the ball to swing both ways, and he can also seam it," said Waugh. "That makes him very difficult to bat against."
Bumrah's Strength
Waugh also praised Bumrah's deceptive action and ability to bowl Yorkers at will.
"He [Bumrah] has a very unusual action, which makes it difficult for batsmen to pick him," said Waugh. "He also bowls some of the best Yorkers in the world."
Always a Threat
Waugh concluded by saying that both Cummins and Bumrah are always a threat to take wickets, regardless of the conditions.
"They [Cummins and Bumrah] are always a threat to take wickets," said Waugh. "They are the kind of bowlers who can win a game for their team on their own."
