Deposit Hunters Demolish Car Wash

The owner of a car wash in Apeldoorn is fed up with deposit hunters. "I came in on Monday morning and saw a huge mess. They had even smashed the soap dispenser. I've had enough now."

Car wash owner Richard Kleinherenbrink filed a report with the police. He also hung up surveillance cameras himself. "I'm not going to take it anymore."

He is not the only car wash owner who is struggling with deposit hunters. According to Kleinherenbrink, it is a nationwide problem. "Colleagues from all over the Netherlands tell me the same story. It's crazy."

Deposit Hunters Are A Problem Nationwide

Kleinherenbrink is calling on the municipality to take action. "They have to do something about it. Otherwise, they will continue to demolish everything."

The municipality of Apeldoorn is aware of the problem. "We are in contact with the police and other municipalities to see what can be done about it," said a spokesperson.

In the meantime, Kleinherenbrink hopes that the surveillance cameras will scare off deposit hunters. "If they see that they are being filmed, they will hopefully think twice about it."

Police Are Investigating

The police are investigating the incident at Kleinherenbrink's car wash. "We are taking this very seriously," said a spokesperson. "We will do everything we can to catch the culprits."

Kleinherenbrink is grateful for the police's help. "I hope they will be able to catch the culprits and that they will be punished severely."

In the meantime, he is urging other car wash owners to be vigilant. "Don't let deposit hunters get away with this. Report them to the police and install surveillance cameras."
