Cavs’ Isaac Okoro Wears Shoes Inspired by ‘The Final Woj Bomb’ vs. 76ers
Cleveland’s Isaac Okoro debuted a new pair of sneakers during the Cavs' 112-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday and the footwear had an unexpected source of inspiration.
Okoro’s shoes featured a graphic of Wojnarowski’s infamous “Woj Bomb” tweet announcing the blockbuster trade that sent James Harden to Philadelphia. Dubbed “The Final Woj Bomb,” the original tweet was sent on February 10, 2022.
Okoro explained his reasoning for wearing the shoes to reporters after the game, revealing that it was a nod to his love for Wojnarowski’s reporting and his admiration for Harden’s game. “Woj is one of the best in the business and I’m a big fan of his work," Okoro said. "I thought it would be a cool way to show my respect for him and also show my excitement for Harden coming to the East.”
The shoes quickly became a talking point on social media, with many fans praising Okoro’s creativity and sense of humor. Some even suggested that the shoes could become a collector’s item, given their unique design and the historical significance of the “Woj Bomb” tweet.
Regardless of their future value, the shoes certainly made a statement on Wednesday night. Okoro finished the game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in a well-rounded performance that helped lead the Cavs to their second straight victory.
