Celtic need a 'miracle' against Chelsea, says Alonso
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga says Celtic will need a "miracle" to beat his side in the Champions League.
The Scottish champions host Chelsea at Celtic Park on Tuesday night in their opening Group E match.
Alonso was part of the Chelsea team that beat Celtic 3-1 in the Champions League group stage last season.
He is expecting another tough game against the Scottish champions, but he believes Chelsea will be too strong.
"Celtic are a good team, but we are Chelsea and we are one of the best teams in Europe," said Alonso.
"We know it will be a tough game, but we are confident that we can get the win.
"Celtic will need a miracle to beat us."
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is hoping to make history by becoming the first Celtic manager to win a Champions League group stage match.
He knows it will be a difficult task, but he is confident that his team can cause an upset.
"We are under no illusions about the size of the task ahead of us," said Postecoglou.
"Chelsea are one of the best teams in the world, but we are at home and we have a chance to make history.
"We will give it everything we have and see what happens."
The match between Celtic and Chelsea kicks off at 8pm on Tuesday night.
