Fifth Annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night benefits

The Evansville Thunderbolts will host their fifth annual Hockey Fights Cancer night on Saturday, March 11, against the Peoria Rivermen. A portion of each ticket sold for the night will support the American Cancer Society. The evening will also help the family of Theresa Hatfield Sullivan, who died of cancer in December of 2022. Sullivan, who was 56 when she died, was known for her generosity and kindness, said her niece, Rachel Hatfield.
“She was the best aunt in the whole world; she was just the best person ever,” Hatfield said.
Hatfield hopes the event will raise funds that will help people who are struggling as her aunt did.

Special events

The game will feature several special events, including a chuck-a-puck contest, a silent auction, and a post-game skate with the team. The Thunderbolts will also wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The jerseys will be autographed by the players who wore them during the game.
The team plans to wear the specialty jerseys during warm-ups and the first period of the game.
Fans can bid on the jerseys throughout the game, and the highest bidders will win the jerseys at the end of the night. The Thunderbolts have partnered with several local businesses to help make the event a success. These businesses include Deaconess Health System, Old National Bank, and the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana.

The money raised from the event will stay in the community to support cancer patients and their families.
The American Cancer Society provides a variety of services to cancer patients and their families, including transportation to and from treatment, financial assistance, and emotional support.
The Thunderbolts are committed to supporting the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer.
The team has participated in Hockey Fights Cancer since 2016 and has raised more than \$100,000 for the organization.
The Thunderbolts are passionate about making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.
The team hopes that the fifth annual Hockey Fights Cancer night will be the most successful yet.
