Ferrari Hesitates: Which Driver Will Drive VT1 in Abu Dhabi?
Haas F1 Team to Field Nico Hulkenberg in 2023
After much speculation, Haas F1 Team has confirmed that Nico Hulkenberg will join the team for the 2023 Formula 1 season.
The experienced German driver, who has competed in Formula 1 since 2010, will replace Mick Schumacher, who was dropped by the team at the end of the 2022 season.
Hulkenberg, 35, has made 181 Formula 1 starts and has scored a total of 521 points. He has also achieved one podium finish, at the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix.
Hulkenberg Excited for New Challenge
Hulkenberg said he is excited to join Haas F1 Team and is looking forward to the challenge of helping the team improve its performance.
"I'm very excited to be joining Haas F1 Team for the 2023 season," Hulkenberg said. "The team has a lot of potential, and I'm confident that we can work together to achieve great things."
Haas F1 Team Principal Guenther Steiner said he is pleased to welcome Hulkenberg to the team and believes he will be a valuable asset.
"Nico is a proven Formula 1 driver with a wealth of experience," Steiner said. "We're confident that he can help us take the next step forward as a team."
Haas F1 Team finished eighth in the constructors' championship in 2022, with Kevin Magnussen scoring the team's only points. The team will be hoping that Hulkenberg can help them improve on that result in 2023.
Ferrari Hesitates Over Abu Dhabi VT1 Driver
Ferrari is still undecided about which driver will drive in the first practice session (VT1) of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The team has two options: reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi or Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich.
Giovinazzi has more Formula 1 experience, having driven for Alfa Romeo in 2019 and 2020. However, Drugovich is the reigning Formula 2 champion and is seen as a rising star in the sport.
Giovinazzi or Drugovich?
Ferrari has not yet made a decision on which driver will drive in VT1, but it is expected that the team will make an announcement before the session begins.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the final race of the 2022 Formula 1 season. Ferrari is currently second in the constructors' championship, behind Red Bull.
The team will be hoping to finish the season on a high note with a strong performance in Abu Dhabi.
