Flood in Málaga: Hundreds evacuated as heavy rain hits southern Spain
Over 200 people have been evacuated from their homes in the southern Spanish city of Málaga as heavy rain caused flooding in the region.
The heavy rain began on Tuesday night and continued into Wednesday, causing rivers to burst their banks and flooding streets and homes.
The worst-hit areas were the districts of Campanillas and Churriana, where water levels reached up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet).
The heavy rain also caused power outages in some areas of the city.
The regional government of Andalusia has declared the province of Málaga a disaster zone.
The heavy rain is expected to continue for the next few days, and the authorities are urging people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The flooding in Málaga is the latest in a series of extreme weather events that have hit Spain in recent months.
In December, a storm caused widespread flooding and damage in the eastern region of Valencia.
