Bulldogs look to extend win streak against Gauchos
The Fresno State Bulldogs will look to extend their win streak to three games when they take on the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 78-69 win over the Cal Poly Mustangs on Saturday, while the Gauchos are coming off a 69-63 loss to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Monday.
Walberg, Anderson reunite
Thursday's game will be a special one for Fresno State coach Justin Hutson, who will be facing his former assistant coach, Joe Pasternack, for the first time since Pasternack left to take over the Gauchos program in March.
Hutson and Pasternack were together for five seasons at Fresno State, helping the Bulldogs win two Mountain West Conference regular season championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," Hutson said. "I have a lot of respect for Joe and what he's done. He's a great coach and a great person. I'm looking forward to competing against him."
Bulldogs look to extend win streak
The Bulldogs are looking to extend their win streak to three games after beating the Mustangs on Saturday.
Fresno State was led by Orlando Robinson, who had 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs also got solid contributions from Isaiah Hill, who had 16 points, and Leo Colimerio, who had 14 points.
Gauchos look to bounce back
The Gauchos are looking to bounce back from their loss to the Rainbow Warriors on Monday.
UCSB was led by JaQuori McLaughlin, who had 18 points.
The Gauchos also got solid contributions from Cole Anderson, who had 14 points, and Miles Norris, who had 12 points.
Thursday's game will be a tough test for both teams.
The Bulldogs are a talented team with a lot of experience.
The Gauchos are a well-coached team that is playing with a lot of confidence.
