Grizzlies' Vince Williams: Doubtful for Wednesday
Grizzlies Forward Vince Williams is Doubtful for Wednesday's Game Against the Timberwolves
Williams suffered a right ankle sprain in Monday's win over the Lakers.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Vince Williams is doubtful to play in Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a right ankle sprain, the team announced Tuesday.
Williams suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Monday's 122-112 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He was helped off the court and did not return.
An MRI on Tuesday confirmed the sprain. Williams is expected to miss at least one game, and his status for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans is also in doubt.
The Grizzlies are already without starting point guard Ja Morant, who is out with a left knee injury. Williams' absence will further deplete their depth in the backcourt.
Williams is averaging 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season. He has started 10 games in place of Morant.
The Grizzlies are 3-7 in their last 10 games. They are currently in eighth place in the Western Conference standings.
