Ichiko Aoba Announces New LP & 2025 Tour, Shares "Luciférine"

Ichiko Aoba, the Japanese singer-songwriter, has announced her first studio album in five years, as well as an accompanying world tour in 2025.

The new LP, titled "Solaris," is set for release on March 15, 2023, via her own label, ATAK. The album features 12 tracks, including the previously released singles "Luciférine" and "Solaris."

Aoba wrote all of the songs on the album, which she describes as "a journey through space and time." The album's title track is an instrumental piece that she says is inspired by the novel of the same name by Stanisław Lem.

The upcoming world tour will begin in Japan in April 2025, and will include stops in North America, Europe, and Asia. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on December 16, 2022.

Aoba is known for her ethereal and atmospheric music, which has been described as "a blend of folk, jazz, and electronica." She has released six studio albums to date, as well as a number of singles and EPs.

Aoba's music has been featured in a number of films and television shows, including the 2016 anime film "Your Name." She has also collaborated with a number of other musicians, including Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian.
