After dropping back-to-back home games to No. 23 Northwestern and No. 8 Michigan at State Farm Center, No. 13 Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball returns to action Wednesday against Oakland at 7 p.m. CT.

The Illini (10-5, 2-2 B1G), who fell from the ranks of the unbeaten last week and out of the AP Top 10 after losses to the Wildcats and Wolverines, are looking to avoid a third straight loss and end a four-game skid at State Farm Center to open the season.

Illinois enters Wednesday’s contest following a 75-57 loss at home to Michigan on Sunday. Senior guard Terrence Shannon Jr. led the Illini with 16 points, while junior center Coleman Hawkins added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Oakland (4-11, 0-4 Horizon) enters Wednesday’s contest following a 76-60 loss at Oakland on Sunday. Four Golden Grizzlies scored in double figures, led by graduate student guard Jamal Cain’s 14 points.

Wednesday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between Illinois and Oakland. The Illini are 24-14 all-time against current Horizon League members.
