Jahan Dotson, Eagles WR, Focused on Making the Most of Opportunities vs. Former Commanders Team
Eagles, Commanders to Square Off in Week 17
Jahan Dotson is eager to make the most of his burgeoning NFL career. The former Commanders first-round pick will face his former team on Sunday when his Eagles travel to Washington. Dotson was traded to the Eagles in October, and he is ready to show that he has not skipped a beat.
WR Dotson Traded After Falling Out of Favor in Washington
Dotson was a standout receiver at Penn State, and he was widely expected to be a star in Washington. However, he fell out of favor this season after the Commanders made several other moves at the position, including trading for Terry McLaurin in 2021.
After the Commanders drafted Connor Heyward in the 2023 NFL Draft, Dotson was no longer part of the team's long-term plans, and he was traded to the Eagles for a 2024 fifth-round pick.
Dotson has been a solid contributor for the Eagles since joining the team.
Dotson Ready to Prove his Former Team Wrong
Dotson is looking forward to the opportunity to play against his former team. He says that he is not bitter about the way things ended in Washington, but he is eager to show the Commanders what they are missing.
"I'm excited to play against my former team," Dotson said. "I'm going to go out there and play hard, and I hope to make some big plays."
Eagles-Commanders Game Preview
The Eagles are a heavy favorite in this game, but the Commanders will be playing with a lot of emotion. This is their first game since owner Dan Snyder announced that he was selling the team, and they will be looking to make a statement.
The Eagles are coming off a tough loss to the 49ers, and they will be looking to bounce back. The Commanders have lost four straight games, and they are in danger of missing the playoffs.
The game will be played at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET
