The Sacramento Kings are 16th in the NBA in three-point shooting, but shooting coach Kayte Christensen believes the team is taking steps to improve.
Christensen was hired by the Kings in 2022 after spending the previous four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. During her time with the Lakers, Christensen helped develop some of the NBA's best shooters, including Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Christensen said she believes the Kings have the potential to be a much better three-point shooting team. She said the team has been working on improving its shot selection and mechanics.
"We're still a young team, but we're making progress," Christensen said. "We're taking better shots and we're shooting with more confidence."
The Kings have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season. They are 23-43 and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season.
But Christensen believes the Kings can turn things around. She said the team has the talent and the potential to be a winner.
"I'm confident that we can turn this around," Christensen said. "We're going to keep working hard and we're going to start making shots."
The Kings will have a chance to prove Christensen right when they face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
