Koeman has a luxury problem in midfield: 'But up front it doesn't last
The Dutchman has a wealth of options in the middle of the park, but is less well-stocked in attack
Ronald Koeman admits he has a "luxury problem" in midfield at Barcelona, but concedes that his attacking options are not as strong.
The Dutchman has been able to call upon the likes of Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Miralem Pjanic in recent weeks, with Riqui Puig and Carles Alena also providing depth.
However, Koeman has been less fortunate in attack, with Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho all currently sidelined through injury.
"In midfield, we have a lot of quality and quantity," Koeman said at a press conference on Friday.
"But up front, it's a different story. We have some players who are injured, and we don't have a lot of options.
"We need to find a solution, but it's not easy. We're working on it, and we'll see what happens in the coming weeks."
Barcelona are currently top of La Liga, but they have only scored 12 goals in their opening seven games.
Koeman will be hoping that his attacking players can find their form soon, as they face a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks.
They host Real Madrid in El Clasico on October 24, before facing Juventus in the Champions League on October 28.
Koeman will need all of his players fit and firing if he is to guide Barcelona to success this season.
