Preston's Outstanding Performances Recognized
Tri-City Americans goaltender Nathan Preston has been named the WHL Goalie of the Week for the week ending March 5, 2023. Preston earned the honor after posting a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .969 save percentage in two starts last week.
Preston's week began with a 32-save shutout in a 4-0 victory over the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday, March 1. He followed that up with a 27-save performance in a 3-2 overtime win against the Everett Silvertips on Saturday, March 4.
The 20-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, is in his second season with the Americans. He has a record of 15-13-2 with a 3.21 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage in 30 games played this season.
Preston's performance last week helped the Americans extend their winning streak to four games. They are now 21-26-4 on the season and sit in sixth place in the Western Conference.
Preston is the second Tri-City Americans player to be named WHL Goalie of the Week this season. Tomas Suchanek earned the honor for the week ending January 22, 2023.
