Regina Ward 10 Candidates Announced
Seven candidates vying for seat on city council
Regina voters in Ward 10 will have seven candidates to choose from in the upcoming municipal election.
The candidates are:
- Catherine Luth-Richards is a former nurse and teacher who has served on the Regina Public School Board since 2012. She is running on a platform of improved transparency and accountability at city hall, as well as increased investment in affordable housing and public transit.
- Jesse Werden is a community activist and musician who has been involved in a number of local organizations, including the Regina Food Bank and the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District. He is running on a platform of social justice, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
- John Findura is a retired police officer who has served on the Regina Police Commission since 2016. He is running on a platform of law and order, as well as increased support for first responders and the military.
- Laura Shutiak is a small business owner and former city councilor who served from 2012 to 2016. She is running on a platform of fiscal responsibility, as well as increased investment in infrastructure and economic development.
- Lorne Calvert is a former premier of Saskatchewan who served from 2001 to 2007. He is running on a platform of experience and leadership, as well as a commitment to working with all levels of government to improve the lives of Regina residents.
- Mike O'Donnell is a former city councilor who served from 2016 to 2020. He is running on a platform of economic development, as well as increased investment in public safety and recreation.
- Terence Robert Thomas is a community activist and musician who has been involved in a number of local organizations, including the Regina Food Bank and the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District. He is running on a platform of social justice, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
The municipal election will be held on November 9, 2023.
