Original Cast joins Outdoor Christmas Spectacle
Multiple award winner Ebenezer Scrooge, the musical, will have its Dutch premiere in the enchanting grounds of Loevestein Castle. From 16 December until 8 January 2023, the heartwarming family show, based on Charles Dickens’s classic ‘A Christmas Carol’, will play outdoors in a specially constructed theatre tent.
The original cast of the Dutch Scrooge, last seen in Carré, will return for this enchanting open-air production. Arjan Ederveen leads the cast in the title role, with Susan Visser as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Carrie Ten Napel as the Ghost of Christmas Present.
Scrooge is produced by the award-winning team behind Soldaat van Oranje – The Musical, the longest-running Dutch musical of all time. With music by the renowned Silvester Levay, direction by Carline Brouwer, and spectacular set design by Carla Janssen Höfelt, Scrooge promises to be a festive treat for all ages.
A festive feast for young and old
Scrooge tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. The ghosts show Scrooge the error of his ways, teaching him the importance of kindness and compassion.
The musical is a faithful adaptation of Dickens’s novella, but with a few modern twists. The score is a mix of traditional Christmas carols and new songs by Levay. The production also features stunning visuals and special effects that will transport the audience to the heart of the Victorian Christmas.
Scrooge is a must-see for fans of the original story and a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Tickets are on sale now from €34.95 via www.scrooge.nl
