Antonio Fuoco to Make His Formula 1 Debut
Scuderia Ferrari has announced that Antonio Fuoco will make his Formula 1 debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. The 26-year-old Italian will replace Charles Leclerc in the second Ferrari car for the final race of the 2023 season.
Fuoco has been part of Ferrari's Driver Academy since 2016 and has competed in Formula 2 and Formula 3. He won the 2017 Formula 3 European Championship and finished third in the 2018 Formula 2 Championship.
Charles Leclerc to Focus on 2024 Season
Leclerc will skip the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to focus on preparing for the 2024 season.
Leclerc had a difficult 2023 season, finishing only sixth in the Drivers' Championship. Ferrari is hoping that giving him a break from racing will allow him to return stronger next year and challenge for the championship.

Scuderia Ferrari is currently second in the Constructors' Championship with 554 points. They are 40 points ahead of third-placed Red Bull Racing.
Ferrari is hoping to finish the season in second place for the first time since 2019.
