Several Cavaliers Could Miss Key Matchup vs. 76ers
Cleveland Cavaliers Injury Report
The Cleveland Cavaliers may be without several key players when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. All-Star guard Darius Garland is questionable with a sprained ankle, while forward Evan Mobley is doubtful with a sprained MCL. Forward Lamar Stevens is also questionable with a sprained ankle.
Garland suffered his injury in the Cavaliers' loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. He is averaging 19.8 points and 8.2 assists per game this season.
Mobley suffered his injury in the Cavaliers' win over the Orlando Magic on Monday night. He is averaging 15.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season.
Stevens suffered his injury in the Cavaliers' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. He is averaging 8.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season.
Impact on the Game
If Garland and/or Mobley are unable to play, it would be a major blow to the Cavaliers. Garland is the team's leading scorer and assist man, while Mobley is one of the team's best defenders.
Stevens is a valuable bench player who can provide the Cavaliers with a boost of energy and defense. His absence would also be felt.
The Cavaliers are currently 29-21 this season and are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are 1-2 against the 76ers this season.
What to Watch For
The Cavaliers will need to find a way to replace the production of Garland and/or Mobley if they are unable to play. They will also need to be able to slow down 76ers star Joel Embiid, who is averaging 29.9 points and 11.4 rebounds per game this season.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. It will be televised on ESPN.
