Troy’s Jackson Fields has earned Sun Belt Player of the Week

Troy University sophomore running back Jackson Fields has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Fields helped lead Troy to a 31-24 home win over Texas State on Saturday.

Fields earns Sun Belt Player of the Week

Fields' performance helped Troy earn a 31-24 home win over Texas State on Saturday. It was Troy's second-straight win and the team's first conference win of the season.

Fields rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. He also caught two passes for 23 yards. His rushing total was the second-highest of his career, and his touchdown was his third of the season.

Fields consistent threat for Troy

The sophomore running back leads Troy in rushing with 340 yards and three touchdowns on 69 carries this season. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry.

Fields' performance against Texas State was his third 100-yard rushing game of the season. He ran for a season-high 157 yards and two touchdowns in Troy's season-opening win over UAB.

The Trojans will face Georgia Southern on the road next Saturday.
