UNC Drops Two Overtime Classic at Colorado
Tar Heels Fall in Heartbreaking Double Overtime Thriller

The No. 14 North Carolina Tar Heels suffered a heartbreaking double overtime loss to the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday night in Boulder, 112-108. The game featured several lead changes, including six in the final five minutes of regulation, and neither team led by more than three points in either overtime period.
UNC (9-4) was led by Armando Bacot, who had 27 points and 17 rebounds. Caleb Love added 25 points, while RJ Davis and Pete Nance each scored 17.
Colorado (10-3) was led by Tristan da Silva, who had 25 points and 10 rebounds. KJ Simpson added 24 points, while J'Vonne Hadley scored 18.
The game was tied at 90 at the end of regulation and went into overtime. UNC took a 93-90 lead on a three-pointer by Love, but Colorado tied it up on a three-pointer by da Silva. The teams traded baskets in the final minute of overtime, and the game went into a second overtime.
In the second overtime, UNC took a 106-102 lead on a jumper by Bacot, but Colorado came back to tie it up on a three-pointer by Simpson. The Buffaloes then took the lead for good on a layup by da Silva with 1:08 remaining.
UNC had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Love's three-pointer bounced off the rim.
The loss was UNC's first in overtime since 2019. It was also the Tar Heels' first loss to Colorado since 2011.
UNC will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Elon at the Dean Smith Center.
