Zach LaVine, the Chicago Bulls' All-Star guard, recently spoke about the upcoming matchup between his team and the New York Knicks, who recently acquired Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster trade.
LaVine acknowledged Towns' impact on the Knicks and the challenges he poses for the Bulls' defense.
"He gives them a lot of offensive firepower," LaVine said. "He can score inside and out, and he's a great passer. We're going to have to be really focused on him and make sure we don't give him any easy looks."
Towns is a seven-time All-Star and one of the most talented big men in the NBA. He averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game last season for the Timberwolves.
The Knicks are hoping that Towns can help them take the next step and contend for a championship. They finished 37-45 last season and missed the playoffs.
The Bulls, meanwhile, are looking to build on their success from last season, when they finished 46-36 and reached the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
The Bulls and Knicks will face off on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
