Former Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth joined 'TNF' set to break down upcoming Commanders-Eagles contest
Whitworth discusses X-factors for both teams and gives his take on current MVP race
Former Los Angeles Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth joined the "TNF" set this week to break down the upcoming Commanders-Eagles contest. Whitworth, who retired after the 2021 season, played 16 seasons in the NFL and was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection.
Whitworth discussed several key X-factors for both teams, including the play of Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Robinson has been a key part of the Commanders' offense this season, rushing for 794 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games. Hurts has also been a key part of the Eagles' offense, passing for 3,472 yards and 22 touchdowns with only five interceptions.
Whitworth also gave his take on the current MVP race. He said that he believes Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the frontrunner, but that Hurts and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow are also in the running. Mahomes has thrown for 4,908 yards and 37 touchdowns with 12 interceptions this season. Hurts has thrown for 3,472 yards and 22 touchdowns with only five interceptions, while Burrow has thrown for 4,269 yards and 34 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
