Varun spins web as India outplay Aussies to reach final

Spinner Varun Chakravarthy revealed that the last three years have seen a significant change in his bowling, contributing to his impressive performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

On Day 2 of the third Test in Indore, Varun bamboozled the Australian batters with his clever variations, finishing with figures of 5/48 to help Team India clinch a comfortable victory and book their place in the final of the World Test Championship.

Varun's game has been transformed since he was first drafted into the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019.

"The last three years have changed everything about my bowling, from slower balls to my cutters and even my pace. It's been a journey of learning and understanding my bowling better, and my mindset has changed as well, believing that I can do well at this level," Varun said after the match.

"Obviously, things take time, and I have had to learn on the go. The IPL has provided me with the best platform to do so," he added.

Varun's recent performances have caught the eye of many, including former India batter VVS Laxman, who hailed his stunning growth as a bowler.

"He has shown great maturity in his bowling and understands his role in the team. He is someone who can bowl at any stage and take wickets, and that's a great asset to have," Laxman said.

As India gears up for the all-important final of the World Test Championship against Australia, Varun is confident of contributing to the team's success.

"This is a big opportunity for us, and we are all very excited. We have worked hard to reach here, and we are ready to give it our all in the final," he said.
