Sam Merrill was upgraded to questionable, but Jarrett Allen (leg) remains out for Cavs
Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill participated on shootaround this morning, but their statuses for tonight’s game against the Pacers remain up in the air.
Merrill has been upgraded to questionable
Merrill, who has missed the last two games with a sprained right ankle, went through shootaround and participated in some 5-on-5 work. He is now listed as questionable for tonight’s game.
“He’s questionable,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “He went through shootaround. He did some 5-on-5 stuff. We’ll see how he feels as the day goes on.”
Allen remains out
Allen, meanwhile, remains out with a left quadriceps contusion. He has missed the last three games and is not expected to play tonight.
“He’s still day-to-day,” Bickerstaff said. “He’s progressing. He’s doing more each day. We’ll see how he is tomorrow.”
The Cavs are hopeful that both players will be able to return soon
The Cavs are hopeful that both Allen and Merrill will be able to return to the lineup soon. Allen is a key piece of the Cavs’ defense, and Merrill has been a valuable contributor off the bench.
“We’re hopeful that we can get them back soon,” Bickerstaff said. “They’re both important players for us.”
