Al Biernat, one of Dallas' most well-known and respected restaurateurs, died on Sunday after a long battle with ALS.
Biernat was born in Poland in 1946 and immigrated to the United States in 1966. He opened his first restaurant, The Old Warsaw, in 1975. The restaurant was a success, and Biernat went on to open several other restaurants in the Dallas area, including Al Biernat's, The Palm, and Nick & Sam's.
